1000 thankful posts??

I'm reading a book right now called "One Thousand Gifts" by Ann Voskamp.  The premise of the book is very similar to the reason I do my 'thankful' posts in November.  Ann is a farmer's wife, mother of 6 and found herself in a place where she was struggling to see the goodness of God.  How in this life, that is so hard and challenging, we can see God at work and giving us great gifts.

She comes to a place to realize that the way to a full life may consist of 3 things: grace, thanksgiving, joy.

Joy, isn't that my greatest desire...to have joy, to be joy, to live joy.  I've heard before that  happiness comes from our circumstances and joy comes from within, from the spirit of God that lives in me.  So despite my circumstances, there should be joy.  Sometimes there is and sometimes there isn't.  I wonder that the times I don't feel the joy, it's when I haven't taken the time to be thankful.  Doesn't the Bible tell us to give thanks in all circumstances? (I Thes. 5:18)

Ann writes: "So then as long as thanks is possible, then joy is always possible."

I think I'll have more thoughts to share about this as I read...brb.
